Friday when school was out we headed to Glorieta New Mexico with some great friends of ours. We left Lockney around 3 and got to Glorieta about 10. When we left here it was in the 70's. I knew it was going to be colder when we got there but I still wore Flip flops and took tennis shoes in my bad....well when we pulled up to the cabin there was 14 in of snow! Seeing as how my bad was the first to go in it was the last to come out so I had to walk in flips through 14 in of snow!!!
So anyway it was cold and Chad made the remark "Man Katie I am not sure I have ever seen you more that fast"!
The next day we got up and headed to Santa Fe where we ate at one of me and Randy Travis's favorite place (we are close and all) and then hit the square to do a little shopping and as Kaileigh said....see some Indians...iiiahhh iahhh (indian noise) In Santa Fe Kalebh found a really cook necklace, Kaileigh found a necklace and bracket and I found NOTHING....Can you believe that! Anyway it was fun. We also took the kids to the staircase without nails then grocery shopping...once we got to Albertson's the electricity was out which made the process both scary and fun at the same time. My friend Jeri and I were worried about the meat not being cool but we are still here so I guess all was fine.
One more thing about Santa Fe Day...when we walked into the church with the staircase Kalebh asks....am I going to have to sit through a sermon on vacation???? That's my kid :)
Next up is the zoo...Kaileigh woke up ready to go.
We left out and it was a really pretty day. Albuquerque is about 70 miles from where we were staying but it was so pretty the time just flew by. We ate at a Pappadeaux and then headed to the zoo. As we were walking into the zoo it started to spit rain but we were still good to go. Kids had coats and we headed on in.
Chad had carried Kaileigh all over Santa Fe and he decided he didn't care if it was 50 bucks he was renting a stroller for Kaileigh...so we did and that worked out great. They told us as we walked in that the Polar were going to be fed at 2:30 so we headed out to look for them and let me just tell you....that was sooo soo cool....or as Kaileigh says...they were Awwwsome. Anyway it was so neat and here are a few pictures of that.
So did I say they were cool...all I have ever seen Polar Bears do is lay and sleep...so if you have have the chance to see them eat...well worth it! Here are a few others from the zoo...I am sure you all know what zoo animals look like so I will just post those that my kids are in! (since that is the only reason you read this thing anyway)
The zoo was great fun the kids had fun, we had fun and by the time we left it was cold...on the way home we had great weather to be out driving in. Between Santa Fe and Glorieta they closed I25 down while we were on it...so it took us almost 2 hours to go 14 miles...lots and lots of fun with 4 kids and a baby! But once again...we lived to tell about it!
The last day on our trip we just hung out and played games, in the snow and the kids watched some movies. It was really nice to stay in. Not to mention we didn't have much of a choice due to all the snow. But, it was nice to get out of town, play, shop and rest...and spend time with some great friends and also with our kids....Love to all...
