1 of 6

Good Evening friends, family and prayer warriors. Tomorrow morning at 9:30am Aj will start her first treatment of 6 that will be a different kind of chemo. Please pray this will be easy on her body, work effectively, and heal her body! My family and I are here and I will be taking AJ tomorrow. Not the ideal way to spend time with my sister but these days I am thankful for every seconds.
Mom and Dad head home tomorrow so please pray for their safety as well as Chad and I as we start home some time tomorrow. Thanks for checking on AJ!

Merry Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas Eve Gift! What a fun, family filled time of year. Last night Chad, the kids and I went to Clovis to be with the Whittington (my Dad's Sister) crew. It was such a blessing to all to together. I just love her kids and their spouses and love being with them. Sadly, it isn't ever often because of everyones different schedules.
Yesterday morning I got up to start cooking some things to take and one of those things was Granny's Cranberry Salad. I just had a hard time. It just isn't the same not being able to call and ask her questions, talk to her or just hear her laugh when I am cooking things that she has made for years. I did laugh as I thought as kids it was so fun to hand crank the grinder and all the time it took to make that cranberry salad. I can tell you this much a food processor is way more fun at this stage in my life :)
As I sit here looking at my Christmas tree, sitting in my living room this Christmas Eve I have to stop and not be sad for me. Because, not a day goes by that I don't miss granny, think of the things she has taught me, or even the things she might tell me with whatever I am dealing with that day. But, today...Christmas Eve is a very special day...for many reasons. This Christmas Eve is the first Anniversary that my sweet Granny has gotten to spend with her sweet husband in many many years...and what better way to celebrate an anniversary than in Heaven singing praises at the feet of Jesus on the Even of HIS birthday!
Yes, I miss her, yes I am sad for me but only because I can't help to be selfish in those ways. But, I am also so very grateful that she is not in any more pain, that she is home with her Lord and Savior that she worked so hard while she was on this earth to make famous. And because she has been reunited with some wonderful people, family and sweet Poppie that went on to heaven many years ago!
Happy Anniversary Granny and Poppie!

Christmas is such a wonderful time to be with family, to be reminded of what really matters in this world. And this year is really no different. With all the things that have been placed on our families platters I am reminded about the simple things in life. All the festive and hurry is fun at times but it all comes back to Jesus. It is all about the gift he gave us when HE was born to this world. See, I love all the Christmas "stuff" I love the lights, I love my tree, I love thinking, planning, and finding the perfect gift for people. I love the food, the baking the cooking the running to the store and getting things, the family time...all of it I love it...but, mainly in those times in the kitchen with my kids, family or whoever is at the house I am reminded that Jesus came so that we could have friendship, family, love, time together and all of those things make my heart so very happy. Nothing makes my heart more happy that when we can all be together. No matter if is with Chad's family or mine...or even someone else's family. I love being with people.
Aj is feeling really good. Tired but not really sick and just feeling more like herself. We are so very grateful this Christmas season for you our friends, family and pray warriors. God has sure used you all to teach us how to trust in the power of prayer. Thank you for your time, energy, cards, food, money and above all of that your love. Growing up I never understood while in the world we couldn't stay in once place. Why we had to move around so much...but in the last 4 months it has all came home to me. As I look at all the people on facebook and my blog there are so many people from different places praying for our family. God knew it was going to take people from Arteisa, Lubbock, Deer Park, Lockney, Clovis and every where in between to carry us during this time. I am so thankful that God goes before us to handle the things we need at a later date. This has been a hard road for Aj to walk but it has been lightened by such wonderful people. Thank you!
Since Aj is feeling so well...Chad, the kids and I will travel to Deer Park later this week. We look forward to being with Aj, Bobby, Bailey, Mom and Dad. It will be a great time to be together. Aj has her next treatment on the 30th. Since we will be there I am going to go with Aj to her 1st treatment of 6. This starts 6 weeks in a row of Chemo. Please be in prayer that she will still feel great even going every week. God is faithful and we trust him.
The Tillery's, Lairds, and Cooks would like to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas! Please take time and remember the true meaning of Christmas. The Christmas story in Luke never gets old! Take time to share it with your family, friends and kids. Because, just like Granny did for many years one day it will be a sweet memory to sit and remember those sweet words coming from her mouth. "For unto us a Child is born...and He will be called JESUS."

Merry Christmas!!!

Feeling Good

Treatment number 4 hasn't kept Aj down much. We are thankful for your prayers, and we ask that you continue them. She tires easily but for the most part is feeling good. God is so faithful. People from all over the world are praying, giving and loving on the Laird's. Thank you. Someone Aj's family doesn't even know dropped by and gave 500.00 for them this Christmas. I cannot tell you what a blessing it is to see so many people giving. Thank you.
Prayer Needs

· Next treatment is Dec. 30th and I will be in Deer Park to go with her.
· That her white count stays up.
· That the nausea stays away.
· For Bobby as his knee is healing.
· For my Parents as they travel to be with them for Christmas.
God, we come to you in this busy time of year and thank you for all the blessings you have given to our family. Father, we thank you most of all for sending your Son Jesus so many years ago to this world so that we might be saved. Thank you for that. Thank you for loving us. Thank you for taking care of us. Please help us to be reminded of our many blessings and the real meaning of Christmas.

Father, we trust you in all this even on days when it is hard to see the whole picture. You have shown us time and time again you have the perfect plan and just like other times we trust you with Aj, we trust you with her treatments but every much ask you to come and be with her at this time. Comfort her and the people that sit with her tomorrow. Lord, we thank you for who you are and I think you for your love. It is in these times that I stop and ask myself...I have no idea how people without face times such as these.
We love you and thank you in advance for being with Aj.

Prayers for Aj's Count

Hello! Prayer warriors...I would love to ask you to join us in praying for a few things today. Aj has been doing pretty good since they got back to Houston from spending Thanksgiving in Artesia. They have spent this week gearing up for Bobby's knee surgery which is today.
Mom has joined the Larid’s in Deer Park this week to help with getting Bailey to school and helping with Aj. Earlier this week Aj started feeling sick and running a fever. She went to the doctor yesterday to have her blood draw and there is a chance they might not do chemo. this Monday because of an infection of some sort. She will get the results today some time.

Prayer Needs:

Please be praying for Bobby, the Doctors and those in the waiting area waiting for Bobby to get out of surgery.
Pray that Aj’s infection will be killed out and she can move on with treatment number 4 as planned on Monday.
Be with Mom as she is there to help and help her to know just the things to do and say for both Aj, Bobby and Bailey.
Bailey…this is so much for a 4 year old to take in but she is doing so great! But, please be praying for her to keep up the pace.
I will update once I hear something from Aj on both Bobby and herself. Thank you all so much for your prayers! We love each of you!

Happy Thanksgiving 2013

Thanksgiving Day

Artesia New Mexico!

Wednesday – Family Pictures. What a joy. Pictures to come soon.

Thursday – Fun family day filled with family, life time friends, food and a little Wal-Mart shopping.

Friday – Sad goodbyes! I hate leaving! My evil plan is to always be the first one to leave so I am not the one standing in the driveway crying my eyes out like our sweet little Granny always did. Mom and Aj have done a great job and upholding that Granny tradition.

The best phrase I could hear from my sister who is fighting stage 3 breast cancer on the night of Thanksgiving. “Katie this day has been awesome…I have almost felt normal. Except having to rest more and go to bed early I haven’t felt sick today” Well, the original comment brought tears to my eyes. But, I have an unspoken agreement with Aj and there is no crying from me in front of her. Don’t get me wrong I shed plenty of tears over this awful time she is having to go through but none in front of her. Anyway, after her comment I looked at her and said well no one in our family has every been considered normal and old people go to bed early so I hear…she laughed and so did I. But, on the way home today that comment has come back to me over and over again. I am so thankful to you our prayer warriors and to our Father for his comfort to Aj and her family to come to New Mexico for Thanksgiving. We are all back in Texas today and our hearts are a little sad but we are all so thankful to have been together.

Father, thank you so much for your wonderful love and comfort you have given us. Thank you walking this bumpy road with us and holding our hands all the way. Thank you for the medication that we trust is healing Aj body. We love you our healer, comforter and friend. Be with us as we enter the time of year that we celebrate your Son that You sent to this sinful world for us. Please help us not to get wrap up into the business of this time of year and to stay focused on you and  your Son.

We love you,

A lot to be Thankful for!

Happy Tuesday! Lots of great news to share and a lot to be thankful for here within the Laird, Cook and Tillery's homes.
Aj is feeling pretty good on the new chemo. Besides the normal chemo (feeling sick, tired and just kind of out of it) she is feeling great. She is feeling so good, her, Bobby, and Bailey loaded up and drove into New Mexico yesterday. They took 2 days to drive it not to wear her out and to let her body rest some. But, they made it to Artesia last night! YAY!!!
The Cook's will be joining them on Wednesday and we are looking forward to it.
Aj also got her blood work back and the infection is GONE....YAY YAY YAY! God is so good and you our Prayer Warriors are so wonderful!
As Aj and Bobby got into town there was a card from the very loving First Baptist Church Artesia for them. Artesia is where I was born, Artesia is where God has done so many wonderful things in our lived and FBC Artesia is the home church for many of the Tillery Family. Granny use to always say...there is no other church family like those people at First Baptist. Well, as I have tears rolling down my face I have to think Granny would be so honored and thrilled about what a blessing FBC Artesia gave to the Lairds. The amount of love in the form of money left for them is so touching! Thank you Artesia for loving our family!
Chemo and medical bills are not cheap. Thank you for blessing them to help cover a lot of these cost! God is so faithful and reminds us daily! Thank you Bro. Rick for leading such a giving church. We love you!
Prayer Needs
· Bobby will be having his knee surgery on December 5th.
· Mom will be traveling back to Houston this next week to be with them to help during Bobby's surgery.
· Next treatment is Dec. 9th
· Pray for strength to build.
· Chad's grandmother (Juanita) is out of the hospital and at home. Please pray that she can build up some strength and keep her pain down so she can enjoy the Holidays.
As always...we are so VERY thankful for you!
With lots of love,

Thanksful for answered prayers!

God is SO faithful and God's people are so amazing!

I am still confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. -- Psalm 27:13-14

Aj just called and asked me to update the blog with the following information. They received a very large answer to their prayers this morning. Aj’s morning had started out rough with nausea and other joyful experience that come 2 days after treatments. But, she had a card to open from a very sweet couple that has been a part of their lives and helped her and Bobby both to grow spiritual at different times in their lives. When Aj open the card there was a check in there for just the amount of money Aj was praying that God would somehow provide for them right now. So, to those sweet people thank you for loving on Aj and Bobby at this time and thank you for giving sacrificially and blessing them in a way that only God’s people who are called by His name can do. Thank you!

Aj is feeling okay. After treatment this time she just feels very flu like. But, so far this chemo is treating her much better. Please keep the prayers coming they are working!

Happy Wednesday! We love each of you!

Half way done!!

Today was the half way done mark! Praise Be! AJ wasn't comforted by this fact very much but once it is behind her and she is feeling better she sure will be. She finished treatment number 3. A very sweet friend of ours that has walked the same road took balloons and some chemo snacks by the treatment center to celebrate. What a sweet sweet thing!

Another sweet action was by Aj and Bobby's Schwan man.  He shaved his head in honor of Aj. How sweet is that. It is amazing the support and love by so many people in so many different walks of life. All this does is bring more glory to HIS name because he is our strength and comfort.

A sweet group of ladies have gone together to have Aj house clean. Today she said it was like walking into a cruise ship. This was something she needed and is so grateful for. Thank you ladies!

Prayer Needs
  • Pray that this chemo will not have the side effects or sickness the other had.
  • She goes back to the treatment center tomorrow for a shot and some meds. Pray this helps.
  • Pray for Bailey has this is wearing on her a little bit. She is such a sweet little angle having to deal with so much.
  • Pray for Bobby as he is getting ready for surgery.
  • Pray for strength!

Thanks for praying!

Test Results

Good Evening! I guess we are learning what it means by "do not be come weary in times of trouble."

I'm writing from my iPad tonight so please excuse the mistakes.

Aj had a down the throat test (I am sure there is a professional name but I can't think of it or spell it for that matter) yesterday. It showed that all looked ok with a good amount of irritation. So the doctor felt like we the Change of chemo should help. They also ran some test to check in to her infection. She should have those back Monday.

Bobby got his MRI today and will be having surgery on December 5th. This will repair a good part of his knee.

Aj sent me a text today with a very sweet message of something someone did in support of her. I cannot wait to share it with you. However, you will have to wait till I get the picture uploaded.

We have the best pray warriors!!! Thanks you!

  • Prayer Needs
  • That the results will come back with helpful information from her infection test.
  • The doctor as he decides how to handle the change in chemo.
  • Bobby's knee
I have another prayer need. Chad's grandmother has been batteling pancreatic cancer since April. She is doing ok just having some pain and a few other issues. Will you please pray for her Juanita Henderson. Such a strong women and a VERY big blessing to me. She kept, loved and cared for my babies so I could work and she has taught them so very much. Please also pray for Charlie her husband and Edith their daughter Chad's mother. As we are learning these things take such a toll on the care givers. Edith with juanita and Bobby withAJ are both doing an amazing job.  Thank you friends!

Sweet Dreams!

Prayer for Appoinments...

Please be in prayer for Aj today. She is going to see Dr. Shaw a Gastrointestinal Surgeon. He is the Doctor that cared for her over the last few years with all of her infections as far as when she had her gallbladder taken out. She is going to see him to just make sure there isn’t something they are missing in all this trouble with her stomach issues. Her appointment is at 10:30
Bobby is going to see the doctor about his knee this afternoon. Please be in prayer for him and the doctor as they decide the best and quickest way to get him back on his feet and feeling good. Whew…Bless their hearts. It will be a long day for both of them.
Kalebh is off on his field trip to Austin. Pray for safety for all and a great time! Such a cool experience for this group of 5th Graders. Thank you Lockney for all you do to support our kids!
Today my day stated out with a blessing from a friend from a long time ago…it just reminded me how thankful I am for Prayer Warriors. I have no idea how we would get through this life without them.
Love to our Prayer Warriors!

Praying For Treatment #3

Lord, we are so thankful you hear our prayers and answer them. We are thankful for the good days Aj is having and we trust you in the hard days as well. Thank you for all you do for us, in us and around us. Help us to trust you even when it isn't easy.

Friends,
Aj is feeling well. She has this week off and takes Treatment #3 on Monday the 18th. Please join me in praying for these things this week.

Prayer Needs

  • That she will enjoy this week and that she will feel peace for next week.

Proverbs 24:12

"God, who knows all hearts, knows yours."
What a wonderful reminder that is. As Aj and other face hard days it is so easy for me to feel helpless. I am so far away and can't do much to help her other than listen. But, this was a good reminder that I can be in prayer for her about all things and that is great help! He knows my heart and knows what we need. So thankful for this reminder.
Aj is starting to feel better...slowly! She is still feeling bad and having a lot of stomach issues but the closer to the 14 days from Chemo she feels better. They have decided to change the chemo type they are using. The doctor is convinced it is burning her stomach. So, this is a huge thing we are asking prayer about. Her next treatment is on November 18th.
They are trying new meds and new after chemo things to help her. She is having a hard time "gearing" herself up for the next treatment because she is just now feeling human again.
Bobby has injured his knee working with the kids at church. Yikes! Getting old is hard...I hear!
Thank you so much for faithfully checking in!
A wonderful friend that I teach with here in Lockney has taken it on to make T-shirts to sale. She will be selling them for 15.00 each and all profits will go to Aj. The shirts are Black, with the Pink Breast Cancer Sign and then in White Lettering they say Go, Fight, WIN! It is such a sweet sweet thing she is doing for my sweet sister and her family. All proceeds will go to cover, medical expenses, gas and treatments as Aj is unable to work at this time. If you would like to order a shirt I can ship those if you will add a 2.00 donation to cover the shipping. You can leave a message here on the blog, email me at kte52882@aol.com or send me a message on Facebook. Thanks Bethany for loving my family!
(there is a picture of the shirts on my facebook page)
Note: those wanting bracelets...the wonderful post office is wanting me to send them as a package because of the "not standard" shape...I am trying to work around that. I have them ready I just need to go to another post office...hope to get that done tomorrow. Sorry for the delay!
--- Prayer Needs:
· Pray the new Chemo will work, with limited to no side effects and help her to feel better much faster.
· That God will restore hope and joy to her life in some way. TODAY!
· Healing for Bobby's Knee.
· That the Doctor will choose the right meds to help her beat this cancer and to feel well while doing it!

Change in plan

Good evening. Sweet Aj has had a very long day. She is in a lot of pain and just isn't feel well. They have decided to change the type of chemo they are giving her at her next treatment. The doctor is thinking the chemo is causing her insides to become very inflamed due to this type of chemo. She started receiving fluids again today because he felt like it was the best way to help her get to feeling better. She will get more fluids tomorrow.
When I talked to her tonight she was really just not feeling like herself and just feeling bad.

Mom and Dad made it back to Artesia. Whew! Long drive for old people... :)
Mom came home to a new floor, and a very clean house she said...Thank you to the sweet Artesia friends who are loving on our parents during this time. Ya'll are a blessing.

Life here in the Big City of Lockney is wild. Football for Kalebh is over and I have been doing the happy dance all day!!!

Prayers for my sweet Kaileigh would be appreciated too. She isn't getting over this awful cough, croup, junk. She has been on antibiotics/steroids/inhalers for about a month. We got back tomorrow to see the doctor.

  • Pray for Aj...comfort, relief, and energy. She very much wants to feel better and get back to "herself"
  • Pray for her outlook, attitude, and just over all well being.
  • Pray that the fluid will be just the fix to getting her feeling better
  • Pray for Dr. Haq has he decides exactly how to treat her. And what type of Chemo to use.
God is Faithful!

Weekend Recap

Good Monday Morning! This is going to be short...as for some reason I was running behind this morning. Thanks for checking in and please join us in prayer today...
Friday -- Aj started out having a great day headed to the mall for some "mall food" she ate her pretzel and then headed home kind of tired. As the day went on she start feeling worse and very sick to her stomach. This continued through the weekend.
Saturday -- Still not feeling great. Sick and even more sick about the Texas Tech Red Raiders losing...ugh.
Sunday -- Not a good day. Tried to get up and go to church and just decided she wasn't up for it. Still having major tummy issues and decided it was better to stay home. Having a lot of pain in her stomach area. Mom and Dad left Sunday and headed home as well. Team Laird are on their own for a few weeks. Sunday evening AJ talked to the doctor and he feels like the Chemo is what is causing all these problems and not the infection she had a few weeks ago. This is a good bad thing. Good she kind of has an idea but now it is time to find a solution to the problem.
Monday -- Headed for fluids and meds at the cancer center and to visit more with the doctor about this problem. 9am. Please be in prayer for Aj, Bobby and the Doctor as they find a plan that is in the best interest to keep treating the cancer but get her to feeling better.
Mom and Dad are driving from Kerrville to Artesia today. Please pray for them as well.
Pray Needs
· Pray for the Doctors to know what to do.
· Pray the Chemo is doing its job.
· Pray that she will get enough fluids to get to feeling better
· Pray that her white count is starting to go back up.
· Pray that she will feel comfort in how they decide to treat her.
· Pray for Bobby as he keeps on keeping on being such a great caretaker.
· Pray for Mom and Dad as they travel.
Love to you all,

Thursday IV's

Aj and Dad are at the Center getting IV's and Fluids. She is having a hard time with shortness of breath and is still not feeling great. The doctor feels like they might need to cut down on the amount of Chemo she is getting for her treatments. Please join us in praying about this. Also, she is back on some antibiotics since they are afraid that infection is still holding on. Please cover her in prayer as you think about it. And her sister who is having a really hard day being so far away. It is easy to be home on her good days...just want to hold her hand on bad ones.

Prayer needs
  • Infections needs to be GONE!
  • The Doctors will make the right choice on the amount of chemo to give her during treatments.
  • Strength
  • Rest
  • That the meds are doing what they need to do
  • Getting enough fluids
  • Spirt, mind and attitude
  • For my sweet Daddy as he sits with her. No parent dreams of this situation.
God, we hold tight that you are in control and you hold all these things in your hands. Please help Aj to feel better. Please be with her family as they are starting to walk in the new "normal" for the time being. Love on each of them in a special way. Amen

Loving each of you during the good, bad and the ugly!

Wednesday...prayers

The doctor feels that the infection might be back...ugh! Please please pray they can stop it from making her so so sick! She goes back in the morning for some IV meds just like she did today.
She has slept a good part of today. Please pray for Gods healing hand to remove the infection from her body now so that the chemo can do its job of killing the cancer.

Thank you!

Shots and Fluid

Today Aj went in for her shot, some meds to help the "room stop spinning" and some fluid. She will go back tomorrow again for more of the same. The doctor came in twice while her and Mom were there to check on her. Mom said that Dr. Haq kept saying...Angela we have to get you feeling better. So... we are thankful that the Doctor is on top of getting her to feeling better faster. The faster she can get the chemo out of her body the better she should feel.
A spirt lifter...DAD!!!! YAY!!!! Daddy arrived in Deer Park today and I know Aj was glad to seem but as well at Mimi and Bailey...He was like a halloween treat! Bailey was so glad to see him. Sadly she didn't realize that Popau is Mimi's ride home...but, hey I am not ruing this for her. Anyway, thank you for praying for Dad as he traveled. He is still dealing with many issues...as well as heath issues :) But, he made the trip and all are thankful to see him.
When they FaceTime with me and KK they all looked really tired.

Prayer Needs!
  • Good nights rest for all the Deer Park Crew.
  • Good night rest for the Lockney crew. Kaileigh is sick and didn't go to sleep till 4:15 and then was ready to go to school at 6:00 (I am afraid I am feeling too old for those all nighters)
  • Pray that AJ feels a lot better tomorrow and gains some of her strength back full force.
  • Help Aj to feel the comfort of family as well as our Heavenly Father comforting her.
Each day some reminds me in a special way how blessed we are as a family to have such wonderful people walking alongside of us during this bumpy patch.

Happy National Cat Day...I hate cats...but it was useless knowledge I thought I would throw out there!

Treatment #2 -- Check

Treatment number 2 is over and behind her. The chemo must be working because she isn't feeling great this evening. But, it is over and on to building her white cells back up so she can be feeling great again. She will go back tomorrow for a short and a bag of fluids and then again on Wednesday. They have a good plan in place to try to avoid the sickness like she had last time. Please join us in praying for...
  • No side effects
  • Assurance that the infection is killed out.
  • Rest
  • No additional sickness.
Thank you sweet friends and family for your prayers. I am working on getting bracelets out this week some time. So, if you had asked for one and don't get it some time this week...ask again!

Love you all,

Treatment #2

As the old saying goes...All good things much come to an end...why is the weekends go so fast and the weekdays just drag by. Goodness this was a fast weekend! However, I am looking forward to next weekend when we get an EXTRA hour of sleep. It is much needed in the Cook house.
Tomorrow...brings treatment number 2. I have a heavy heart tonight for a few reason. I hate that Aj is even having to face this stupid cancer. And she has just now finally gotten to feeling better since her virus...and her she starts the whole cycle over again.
So...this is when we call and you our prayer warriors. We ask you to lift Aj up not just tonight and tomorrow but for the next week. Pray for Bobby, Mom and Bailey as they are all there in Deer Park and will all be supporting Aj this week. I love the fact that I can see how many times this blog has been viewed because that just allows me to share with Aj how many people are praying for her. Thanks for being so faithful on her behalf.

Prayer Needs
  • That Aj gets a good nights rest, that she will feel refreshed and have a sense of protection.
  • That she will not fall into some of the negative traps that Satan sets.
  • She will not have ANY side effects from this treatment.
  • Treatment is at 9:30am so we would love your prayers for her then...Treatments last about 3 hours.
  • That she will in someway have the chance to share Jesus with someone tomorrow at the Rose.
Father, we come to you tonight on behalf of my sweet sister Aj. We ask that you would help her to sleep well tonight, and to wake up rested and feeing very comforted by you and the people she knows that are loving her along this journey. Please be with Bobby as he helps carry her down this bumpy road and be with Mom as she sits with Aj and Bailey as she is having to deal with all this at such a young age. Please help Aj's body to be free of infection and to not have any of the side effects to this chemo treatment. Help her to be able to rest and allow the treatments to battle this cancer in her body. God we trust that you have gone before Aj and for that we are thankful. We know that you have a perfect plan and please help us all to trust you with this daily. God, thank you for loving us and thank you for sending your Son so that we might be able to face these hard days.
Amen.

Good News!

Aj saw the infectious disease Doctor today. He told her she was on the right track. She had to have to much fluid while she was in the hospital it is just going to take her body time to process all that. But, he felt like the infection should be gone but wanted her to stay with the antibiotics till Sunday just in case. She WILL get to have her Chemo treatment IF her white count is where it needs to be. Which she will find out tomorrow. The have a plan in case the infection is gone and acts up after her next treatment so they are ready for battle if they need to be. The other good news is the insurance approve one of the meds she is needing which was kind of a problem at first...but that is taken care of. Thanks for the prayers on that! I FaceTimed with Aj during my lunch and she looked tired. But, a trip to the doctor can do that to a health person. So, she was ready for a  nap but she looked good. So all in all this was a great report and the doctor is on board to make her feel better and help her along the way! For this we are thankful! Loads of love to all our pray warriors!

Prayer Needs
  • That her white cell count is high and ready for her next treatment.
  • That her body will already be building itself to carry her through her next Chemo on Monday.
  • She will get the rest she needs to be ready for Monday.
  • That the infection will be KILLED out and totally out of her body!!!

Prayers for the day!
  • Aj is going to the doctor tomorrow to see about all the fluid on her body, about changing antibiotics and a few other issues. So, pray that the doctors can help her, give them some answers and get her on the right track to better so se can take treatment number 2 on!!
  • Pray that she can get some relief with her stomach
  • Pray for Bobby as he has done a wonderful job in keeping up with all her medications, and trying to figure out what is causing her to not feel well. Bobby needs rest. Please pray that he will continue to sleep well, rest well and start to feel human again.
Dad and I were talking tonight and he shared how amazed he was at how many people were praying for our sweet Aj. We thank you. This is a 6 month process and we ask that you stay with us and pray Aj through this bump in the road. I am ordering more bracelets because so many people are asking for them...how cool is that. People that haven't ever met Aj in person are wanting bracelets to keep lifting her up as she fights this battle. Thank you!
Thanks for Loving us!

Cook Update

The other day I was visiting with a friend that is keeping up with the blog and they encouraged me to not to forget the reason I started this blog several years ago which was to keep up with different things happening in my kids lives and such. So, in the mist of the bumpy road I should still include what is happening in the Cook family...It is hard to not just focus on Aj because I want to keep all up to date but I thought I would throw a little Cook update in...
We are back in the pig business. While I was gone to Houston Chad and Kalebh searched the world over and they did find true love....a Duroc (Brownie) and a Cross (Blackout).
So here we go!
