A Weekend To Remember
What a fun weekend! It started off Friday for me. I took the day off since my bestie since Jr. High was flying in and spent the day with her Friday. We had a great time shopping, visiting and reminiscing! I bought a pair of boots and there are just somethings you can't shop for without your best-friend or mom there to tell you the real truth! I got them and they were even comfortable. They weren't flip flops but they will do!
Once we got back to town we went out to check on the pig business happening at the show barn...well that was interesting two city girls checking on the pigs. Britni got to pet pigs, cows, lambs and any other animal that was out there! But, man was it cold. Some how we got tricked into taking Kaileigh and so the three girls headed to the basketball game..it was nice and warm in there! Anyway, we had a great time.
Saturday morning started early. The boys left at 7 to head to the Show Barn. Kalebh was nervous and his Daddy was even worse.
Us girls stayed behind till the ripe time of 9:30 to go. Kaileigh woke up ready to role. She loves the shows and all the people animals and really she is great help for the most part.
Kaileigh Ready to Show!
We went out and caught the end of the lamb show and then watched the cow show...heifers, Steers and milk cows...very interesting show and such pretty animals. I enjoyed watch it all but as the time came closer to the pigs the more nervous I became. As parents we always want our kids to do good but, there is just something about them preforming, showing any of those kinds of things that just makes me want to throw up! Anyway, Kalebh did a great job! He got 2 1st places and 2 3rd places and we got a reserve grade breed with Big Daddy. So we had a great day!
Kaileigh got to show in the PeeWee show and it was a great time. Everyone is a winner with a Grand Champion Ribbon!
After the stock-show we have the sell on Monday night. They don't really sell their animals it is more like local business making a donation to the kids that show. Anyway, it is always a neat time to see people come together to support our kids. Anyway, Kaileigh decided it would be fun to play in one of the pig pens. As she was crawling over to get out she fell off and well...here is what we ended up with!
We head to San Angelo in a couple of weeks and we are looking forward to that! Raider will not be going to Anglo and he broke a leg this last week. Poor Raider!
This was a weekend I will forever remember! Great time, with Britni and my sweet family.
Love to all,

Pigs times 4
Well it is that time!! Bring on the pigs, boots, whips, brushes, and the show!!! My favorite part of this whole thing is the show! I would rather bypass the cleaning of pins, the breaking water in the freezing cold and so on...but, they say the good comes with the bad. (Okay really I don't do any of those things...I just like to act like I do.)
Yesterday we went to Lubbock and did our stock-show shopping. Holy Moly! Boots, 2 shirts for Kalebh and 2 shirts for Kaileigh cost as much as one of the pigs...whew...but I tell you Kalebh will be the best looking one at the show!
This year we have 4 pigs. We agreed on 3 but that is a whole other story. I love each of our pigs but one...Just because! This year these pigs have been more like pets and I think it will be alot harder for us to let them go to the "pig farm"! We will be going to San Angelo in Feb. where we will take two pigs. I am excited this is a really fun time for my family to share with each other and we always make great memories while we are there. Not only that it is a great time with other families from Lockney. I am very excited!
Hope everyone is gearing up to go back to school! I am still a little sad the break is over. It has sure been nice.
Here is the pig line up for next weekend!
Raider -- He is a Duroc. He is my favorite. I talked all year about getting a Duroc! Last year I sat and watched the Duroc show in San Angelo and they are so feisty I knew we HAD to have one.
PeeWee -- He is a Yorkshire. He is my favorite! This was there first pig we got this year. Chad and Richard (Chad's Dad) went to a sale in Plainview and found him. He is the sweetest pig. When Kalebh pets his side he just falls flat over. So cute. Kaileigh will be showing PeeWee in the PeeWee show next weekend!
Slim -- is a Hampshire. He was the smallest pig we bought but he has sure grown and filled out. (I am sure he says the same about me) Anyway, he is sweet just a little stand off-ish. We love him and he has really turned out to be a great pig. We had a hamp last year as well. They kind of all look alike!
Last we have...big dummy...I have no good reason to not like this pig other than we agreed on 3 pigs and he was the forth pig. He was cheap. It was a deal "we" couldn't pass up but anyway he has turned out to be a good pig!
Big Daddy -- He was a large pig when we got him. He is a Chester. Not all that nice and kind of the bully of the bunch but all in all he is a good looking pig and when the rubber meets the road that is all that matters. Now, if this pig wins the show take call my comments and throw them out the window! Thanks!!!
Signing out...

Happy New Year!!! Ringing in 2012...I mean 2013
It will take me at least until May to get use to writing 2013. Oh well I guess my 3 will look a little silly until I get the hang of it. Why is it so hard to remember those things....Oh I know...because we are creators of habit. Well, part of my New Year's resolution is to blog more. I enjoy writing, ranting and sharing my heart so I hope to do that more often. My sweet sweet hubby got me a new lab top for Christmas...well I talked him into it a little early but anyway he I have no good excuse not to blog....my last computer lost the letter p...it was hard to write about popping fireworks with out the p or pipping or pickles or peeking...anyway you get the point.
I stopped posting when I didn't have pictures to go with my post and seeing that most everyone is on spacebook (as Chad's grandma calls it) can see pictures I promise to do better! I hope!
Well let me see I will give you a recap from when I left off in April.
April - May
My baby cousin Alicia got married in May. It was a very exciting time for us all. She was a beautiful bride and we are so happy to have Ben as part of our family.
May was also my 30th Birthday...I know I know there is no way that is possible...I keep telling myself the same thing. We celebrated by birthday by take a trip to Las Vegas. Chad and I had never been a we were very excited to get away for a few days. It was a very fun trip. I wasn't sure if it was a place I would want to go back but I am already asking if we could go for my 31st birthday! We saw some great shows, interesting people and lots of cool buildings and hotels. We took a taxi one morning down to the pawn shop that is on the history channel and go Kalebh a Chumbly shirt. He was so happy. It was neat to go but in the end...it was just a pawn shop.
June-July
In June we took a few trips to Dallas and then in July we took 35 youth to church camp in New Mexico. I tell you there is nothing more rewarding that watching students fall on their face before a ever loving God...we are blessed to be entering our 9th year here at FBC Lockney. God is good and faithful and for this we are thankful!. The end of July we took a family vacation to Oklahoma City. Mimi (my mom) went with us and we had a blast. We shopped, did the river boat tour and watched a minor league baseball game. All of which were wonderful!
August-September
August brought another school year. Kalebh started 4th grade and Kaileigh started Kindergarten. She is loving shchool and for this we are thankful. Kalebh likes school okay but all in all he is a boy and would rather be outside throwing a ball around. Kalebh has been having laser treatments on his knee in Dallas for the last 6 months but we are now at a waiting time. The tumor or his knee is an open wound and no more treatments can take place until that heals up. I think we will be looking to start back with treatments during the summer time.
October-Novemeber
Well October brings pig season...and Chad and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary. We loved OKC so much we went back for a weekend trip and I took Chad to see his first NMA game...we love the OKC Thunder and had a great time. Kalebh is just now starting to talk to us for going without him. We had a nice weekend and got most of our Christmas shopping done while we were there. November brought Thanksgiving and this year the Tillery/Whittington family were most thankful for a little bundle of joy Avery Hope Whittington born on November 6th. We love her as if she were our own and I try and get to Lubbock to see her as much as possible. I love visiting with her mom and dad Matt and Callie too! Such a sweet little girl.
December
Wild month. It started out with Chad and I going to Nashville. Chad's company sent us with a group of growers and I was thrilled. I love Nashville. We had so much fun and met some new friends. I got to know some of the guys Chad works with and their wives. We were able to see some really cool history things, learn facts about singers I would have other wise never known...saw dancing teddy bears and had a ton of fun. The best part was...it was all free to us! For Christmas My sister and her family came to the big ol City of Lockney along with my mom and dad. Christmas Eve I woke up feeling awful so I ran to the walk in clinic to find out I had the flu! YAY! A house full of company and I have the flu....Chad was a super star. He washed, cleaned, cooked, picked up and did all of it with a wonderful smile on his face...he was wonderful! Christmas Day we were at Edith house with Chad's family and it is always so nice to get together! We are blessed with lots of friends and family!
Whats to come...I am looking forward to what God is going to do in our lives for 2013! In the coming week we are gearing up for the county stock show. My life long bestie will be coming in from Dallas and that means so very much to me to have her here. Kalebh will be showing 4 pigs this year. We all agreed on 3 pigs but we have 4 and that is a whole other blog :) We have Raider, Big Daddy, PeeWee and Slim...I tried to get them to name on Jimmy Dean but they wouldn't go for it...sad day! Anyway, we show at the county show in January and then to San Angelo in February. Stay tuned for my side of the stock show! I got a show whip from Santa so I am thinking that was an underhanded comment about how he might think I need to be more help in the next few weeks. We shall see.
I wish each of you a very HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY New Year and many blessings. God is faithful as always~
