Thanksgiving in our hearts.

Thanksgiving...I have been thinking alot about Thanksgiving. I am a facebook reader and I love to look at pictures and read about friends and family. For the month of November everyone has been posting the things they are most thankful for. For some reason this bothered me this year. I kept asking myself why we don't share more about the things we are thankful for. So, of this last month I have been thinking of the many things I am thankful for and the things I am going to try and be more thankful for.

First and most of all I am thankful for my salvation! I am thankful that God sent his Son to die for me and to save me from my nasty sin. At the same time I am thankful that God saw fit to bring my loving husband to His saving grace. On top of that I am so very thankful that my son Kalebh has found this free gift as well and I am praying for the day that sweet Kailiegh will come to understand His saving grace as well.

I am thankful for my sweet Momma and Daddy. I am thankful that they still love each other and have a happy marriage of almost 40 years. I am proud that they not only love each other but that love and serve our Heavenly Father. I am thankful that they drug me church all of my life. At the time I was very annoyed that they felt this was imporatn but now I am so very grateful. Thank you mom and dad for not only loving me but for believing in me. We have had some wild times, sad times, very hard and life changing times but most of all we have come though all of it together and with a stronger understanding that Christ is our solid rock. I love you forever!

Granny -- I am so very thankful for her and what she means to me. This year has been a very hard year for not only her but for us to. Thankful she is feeling better and getting stronger. As I left the nursing home the other day I just cried and cried not for any reason other than I was sad for me. SHe was happy, she was glad to see us and she seemed happy where she was. But, I was sad for me. That I couldn't walk into her house slam the garage door and see her sitting in her chair listen to the tv that was about 10 times to loud. I couldn't smell her cooking breakfast or kiss her as I went and crawled into the bed next to her. I am thankful for her life, her love for her family but more than all of that I am thankful that she has shown each of us grandkids how you are to love, lead and grow in our relationships with Christ. Thankful that we have wonderful memories!

Family --- Whew the list could and might go on and on...I am thankful for my sister. She is everything I am not and that is what I love the most about her. She is strong, understanding, forgiving, compassionate and she never gives up. I love her with all my heart and I am so thankful for her and all the things she means to me. There have been many times in my life that she has shown up when I need her most and I will forever hold that close to my heart! Not to mention she has given us our sweet sweet Bailey who brings so much joy to our lives. I am thankful for my cousins near and far and to each one of them they mean something dear to me. Matt and Alica I claim as more like brother and sister because we have just been closer in distance than others but I love Matt and how loving and tender hearted he is and Alica is so driven in everything she does.

In-Laws -- I have the best inlaws anyone could as for. My mother in law is more like my second Mom than anything. She has shown me so much about life, love, forgiveness and accomplishing anything you set your mind to. Edith loves me as if I were her own and has taught me so much. My sister in law and brother in law Cindy and Greg are wonderful. They are alot of fun to be around and their kids and mine play so well together. I love the fact that we can all do things together and enjoy each other. My brother in law Bobby is alot of fun as well. He loves my sister and is a good Father as well. Just like my sister Bobby has shown up and been there for me in some really hard times. It is times like this that make someone very special.

Sonic Drinks --- Without them...really do you want to know what I would be like?

Work -- I love the place I work and for the people I work for. I enjoy the ladies I teach with and we have a great time. I am thankful each year for the students I am allowed to teach. I just pray that I not only teach them life lessons but that in some way they see the love of Christ in me.

Kalebh -- Kalebh brings so much joy to my life. He makes us laugh, he makes us think and he is always so forgiving of everyone. Kalebh is so tender hearted and he wants to please everyone. He wants to know more every day and he works hard at everything he decides to do. Kalebh brought surprise to our lives but he has taught me so many things in his short 8 years and I am so excited to see how God is going to use him in the years to come.

Kailiegh -- She is a ball of fire. When she is hungry she is mad, when she is sleepy she is emotional when she is fully rested she is a ball of fire! She is loving when she wants to be, she is jealous of her Daddy ( doesn't want anyone loving on him but her) but at the same time she is sharing, she isn't afraid to try anything one time and she will tell you what is on her mind. I love her with all my heart I prayed she would be a cuddly baby and at 4 she still crawls up in my lap and loves on me at the right moment and she reminds me as to why my mom and dad loved quit days :) Our life wouldn't be the same without her and I am so thankful that God saw fit to give me a daughter....just like me :)

Chad -- He is everything a girl could ask for. He loves me when I am mad, sad, cranky, or just being me. He is always so good to me. He treats me like a princess and if he could give me the moon he would! I love him so much and I am so thankful that God not only blessed me with him as my husband but blessed us together as parents I can't image traveling this journey of life with anyone other than him. I catch myself at times staring at him with the kids and just thanking God for blessing me.

Friend -- I have been blessed with great friends, from long ago to not so long ago. You make me laugh you make me smile but more than anything you inspire me to be a better friend in each and every way.

Freedom -- I am thankful we leave in a free Country where we can serve whatever God we want to and worship him openly. I am thankful for freedom in many forms.

Most of all this Thanksgiving season I am reminded that I don't spend enough time being thankful. I spent time this thanksgiving thinking how we spend one day being thankful followed by the next day being about how much more "stuff" can I get. My goal is to be more thankful and less waiting. I am remind by many friends that serve as missionaries and by the kids I teach each day that there are so many that have less to be thankful for than I do but spend more time showing Thanksgiving!

I hope each of you have had a wonderful holiday of Thanksgiving but my prayer is that you will join me in giving thanks to the Creator each and every day.

Love to all,

Green---Acres...Cook---Acres...same??

Well, we own pigs! Who would have ever thought. Those of you that have known me most of my life will find this funny...I am not so much of the outside type...but I will say...they are cute.
Kalebh was was excited however I had to ask if it was Chad, Charlie (Chad's grandpa) or Kalebh that was most excited! But, I have informed everyone I will ONLY be the photographer of the pig! Just so that is clear!
It is making memories with our kids and watching Chad and the kids work together that is going to be the most fun. I will be right there to take it all in...Maybe!
Here are a few pictures of our new family members!

Summer...Fun

Since summer is here the fun around the Cook house has started...sleeping late, staying up late, playing outside till dark, water balloon fights, water fights, baseball games, and the list goes on....but the other night I had the best sweetest sight I will remember for a LONG TIME! Kaileigh pulled ALL of her baby dolls out and every blanket she owns and was having a sleep over with her babies! I love that sweet girl and in her mind it was SO MUCH FUN.

When I first saw....all the mess I was almost mad after a day of cleaning house until I stopped to see what was taking place. I was thankful that I kept my mouth shut and let her enjoy her sleep over. She was fast asleep when Chad and I went to bed and so was the big baby doll.

He was so sweet sleeping in there...Now, he wouldn't sleep on the floor but he settled for the couch...Such a good big brother.

At 3:00am Kaileigh came in and woke her Daddy up telling him that her babies were awake and needed milk....bahh...I laughed in my sleep at this and then she started pacing from the living room to her bed room waiting for her Daddy to get up and get her babies some milk...which resulted in Chad telling her she can go back to bed with her babies or get in our bed....In no time flat she was in between Chad and I and fast asleep!

What a fun time.

Along with summer time comes Kalebh a new do...in years past he has had a Mohawk but this year he asked if he could color his hair...so I said "sure let's just have it highlighted" well he wanted blue, green or red and when we didn't go for any of those he settled for blond...on the way to get it done he asked if he could just have the whole thing colored blond..........

So.....

Are you ready????

Well what's done is done...He loves it...and it's just hair right?

Enjoy your summer!

Summer 2011, Birthday and Trips!

GRANNY
Let me first start by saying Granny is doing so much better. She has gotten her meds all worked out and is in her new home and starting to like it. She says there isn't much to do out there but I am sure in no time she will have her time filled with something. Thanks for all the prayers! We are headed to see her Friday and taking Lemon bars!

Kalebh's 8th Birthday
Kalebh had a great birthday. We took him to eat at his favorite place and then had a party on that Saturday at the Skating Rink...Whew it was wild...but a great time was had by all. Skate board is what he wanted this year with all the pads and safety items to go with. Mom and Dad got him an electric scooter that HE AND His Daddy love very much.... so at this point there has been no broken arms legs or any other parts...almost hit by a school bus but that is another story altogether!

Noah's Ark Pre-school
Kaileigh finished out her frist year of pre-school and loved it...for the most part. They had a end of the year program that was oh so cute and she loved it as we did too! New outfit and all!

Summer is here and we are SO thankful! Maybe I will have time to keep things more updated...no promises :)

Mom and Dad are in Isreal for the first time. Left yesterday and will be back June 15th. Please join me as we pray for them as they walk where Jesus walked and learn about all the neat places wonderful things took place!

Love to all,

Mother's Day...What a sweet sweet day

Happy Mother's Day to my sweet Momma. I love you with all my heart. I am so thankful that God saw fit to match us together. I am thankful for all of our talks not matter big or small I always learn something. Thanks for always being someone I can call and talk to. I love you.

I have sweet memories of lots of moms. The job of being the daughter of a preacher is lots of people claim you as their own and so I am blessed by countless "second mothers" they have all taught me something and I hold each dear to my heart.

About 10 years ago God saw fit to match me with a wonderful Mother-in-law. I love her very much she is so good to me and has taken me on as her own...bless her heart. She is such a women of strength and understand and I know have a lot more to learn from her.

Granny---My sweet Granny is having lots of health issues and we are just praying that she will gain some of her strength back and get to feeling better. But, Granny has taught me so many things in life and I love her so very much she is a women of God's word and always has some life lessons to share with me. I just pray that the time will come soon that her and I can sit and talk more. I love you forever, I like you for always as long as I'm living my granny you'll be!

Mothers...where would we be without them.

As a mother my kids have shown me so so many thing about life. I sit and wonder some times what in the world I did with my time before I had them. I love cuddling up with them, waking up to them, kissing boo boobs and holding them. Life is so sweet and you get a front row seat when you have kids. This morning I woke up to all kinds of sweet things. Kailiegh made me a sweet poem in a frame that she made at school, Kalebh drew me a picture and made me a flower picture that had his picture as some of the blooms. They had two movies, iTunes card and a sweet sweet card for me. Not to mention hugs and kiss all around which are my favorite!

I write this now as my two are out in the front yard covered in mud and yuck...so I will have to remember how sweet they are when I have to let them in my house to get cleaned up!

Happy Mothers to all the sweet ladies in my life I love each of you,

Baseball Season is HERE!!

Kalebh has started baseball...it is in full swing. This is his first year out of T-ball and he loves it. Chad isn't coaching however he has been to ever practice. We are excited and Kalebh just loves baseball. Kalebh has his own personal cheer leader and that is Kaileigh Faith Cook. I am sure there will be more pictures to follow but for the most part Kalebh and Kaileigh just look so cute!!!

So, did you see how cute those kids were? I just can't help but give into Kalebh's sweet smile....well Saturday night that is what I was trying to remember...that sweet sweet smile as Chad and I were sitting down in the living room and heard a sudden shatter...hmmm Kalebh was outside playing catch and had his golf clubs out as well...so you guess what that shatter was...........................

Yep, you guessed it...broken window. The first of many I am sure. Poor Kalebh had his talk all ready when he walked in the front door to tell us about it and all he could get out is...I'M SORRY....So, we went out took a look picked up the glass and headed to dinner...not worth crying over. However, he did alot of that. He just felt so bad. I just thought it would have been a baseball to be the cause of the first broken window I had no idea it would be a golf ball. It was fun! Sweet Kalebh...I just hope and pray he always has such a tender heart!

Houston...Get-away!

Sorry for the lack of blog it has been down right wild...after the room remodel it has been down hill. Starting end of school festives, holidays, TONS of birthdays, and BASEBALL. I love every second of it but whew...it takes about every second of our days!

Let's see. In April Mom came and kept the kids so Chad and I could go to Houston for the Astro's opening game at Minute Maid Park. It was a blast. We saw to baseball games and got to go to fan fest with Aj and Bobby. We had a blast. Getting up at 5am to go get in line to buy tickets to meet Jeff Bagwell (my all time favorite Astro) and get his autograph. It was so much fun and we got to spend fun time with Aj and Bobby. It was nice to get away. However, when we got home I found out I had strep and well sweet Bailey got it to...I am saying she gave it to me however they say I gave it to her...we will never know!

Easter

Kaileigh had her Easter Party at school and it was so fun. I always love hearing her sing those Easter songs and doing her Easter moves. They had an Easter bunny at school both real and hmmmm dressed up. Kaileigh didn't care much about the real bunny because you know she has one of her very own...But, lots eggs and candy were found. Part of the Easter party was to wear, make or add to an Easter hat so she HAD to have the pink cowboy and Gammy add a little green to it...so she was ready to roll!

Aj, Bobby and Bailey came for Easter Sunday. They came in good Friday along with Mom and Dad and stayed until Monday. We had a great time. We ate, hunted eggs, had confetti egg fights and just enjoyed each other.

Kaileigh and Bailey took off in the Barbie Jeep and gave us a little "preview" of what is to come...Lord God Lord God!

Dyed Easter Eggs...with Allie and Ashley

The kids spent the night with Gammy...seeing that the "girls" were here they just can't stand the thought of spending the night at home...but they came in home in time to get ready for chruch...oh and to see what the Easter Bunny brought!

They sure do clean up nicely!

After church they had the first ever church wide Easter Egg hunt. It was a blast for the kids and more eggs and candy were to be found. This was the first Easter that Bailey kind of knew what was going on so it was soo soo fun to watch her. She found out fast that most eggs had "stuff" inside of them them...so every time she would find a egg she would stop to open it up put the candy in her basket and throw the egg back out!

The girls had to have one more ride in the jeep to end the weekend!!!
