So....as I sit here and ask myself tonight "where did January go?" My wonderful, understanding husband said....was January the housekeeper or the cook? Isn't he so funny. Never mind the fact that I did both today! :) But, really can you believe that the month is over and we are going in to Feb. crazy how time flies.
Well for my Houston friends we here in West Texas just had a huge ice storm which resulted in no power, no water and then no power again....I know I am ready for flip flop weather. I am looking forward to my trip to DP soon and hope it is nice while I am there to see my sweet Bailey...oh and my sister too!
The kids are doing great. Kalebh had a great week at school and made a 104 on his spelling test...I think we have finally got the understand that ever sentence starts wtih a capital letter...no matter what! Yippeee!!! Kaileigh is good. The other night I was asking the kids what they wanted to be when the grew up. I asked Kalebh and he said he wanted to be a cop (like Matt), a fireman or an EMT...and Kaileigh said she wants to be a monkey!!! That's my girl!
Chad -- he usually gets no much say in my blogs because he just doesn't say much! But, this week Chad was offered a job in the sales department of his company. He had interviewed a few weeks back and we really didn't think anything would come but they called and offered him the job and he starts on the 8th. He is really excited and well I love change so much I am a little nervous...but whatever he wants to do and makes him happy I am for...so here we go....buy more cotton.....farmers buy Delta Pine cotton....please...it's for the kids...the cooks who ever!!!! Just buy it!
Katie -- Well I am looking forward to my mom coming to stay with me for a couple of days as Chad wraps up his current job in Mississippi next week. I haven't gotten to have her here in a while and I am excited. I am also very much looking forward to having a little R and R at the end of the month as I go to DP for a few days and leave the poor kids with Chad!
Story time -- SO last night Chad and I went with the Triple L club from Church...at most churches this group is called the Sr. group....but LLL is Living Long and Loving it! Well let me say up front that I LOVE these people and they were going to a thing a Wayland and Chad and I went along...Well, one of the members who has become a very good friend and mentor of Chad and I came by to pick us up....let me stop here and say....the roads were BAD...we really had no business getting out in the weather but they had paid 20.00 a ticket and they were going....I paid 20 a ticket but I was okay not going...anyway he picked us up in their mini van and off we went...around down we hit bumps, went flying, and almost got stuck a few times...but off to Plainview we went 1 other car following....anyway we stop to eat at Cotton Patch and it was very nice and he had a great time.....but as the drive goes out to get the car to pick us up at the door he gets stuck in the parking lot...good thing Chad was there...he and another LLL member pushed the mini van out and off we went again....once the program was over which was wonderful we headed home...at 10:00 remind you....so the roads that were bad already were even wrose....well we came to what most people call a stop sign....oh no....we don't stop we just go barreling trough down one of the worse streets in Plainview because it so hilly...anyway at one point I pulled a picture of my kids up on my phone so that if they found me dead they would know I was thinking about them and who belonged to me...we did make it home....and thank God I have a Grandmother that prayers ALL day for her kids and grand kids! whew...it was an adventure...but it was fun....at one point the driver said.....you know when I first got to know Katie I thought she was laughing with me.....and now I am understanding that really she is laughing at me....I love the drive......but I did laugh the whole ride home....because I didn't know what else to do.....it was kind of like being at six flags....but this was soo much more scary!
Chad is preaching tomorrow so me and Kalebh said we guess we will go :) I leave you with this....be thankful for power, be thankful for water and make sure your kids take drivers ed! The funny thing is this driver my story was about....was the drivers ed teacher!!!!
Love to all,
