Kalebh Learns to Ride his bike

This was the biggest event over Spring Break 2010! However I didn't include it in the "Spring Break" post...it needed one all of it's one.

Breaking News in from Gammy's House (That's Edith) Kalebh has learned to ride his bike!!!! Seeing that I am not a big fan of the bike after my major accident in 1990 I haven't been good to teach my kids...but Edith was willing and very good at it. Chad and I live on a very busy street as it is the street and so I don't want him learning in front of my house as people drive oh 50 in a 20 all the time! Edith however has a great street. When we got back from our trip Kalebh asked if we would pay half of the price for him a new bike and he would pay the other half...I was so proud of him for using his own money. Anyway we went and got the bike. The first day he did okay...but not so okay all at the same time. The next day he stayed at Edith's while Kaileigh and I went and got her a hair cut and some new shoes for Easter. Anyway when we got back from town we turned down Edith's street to find a grown up boy riding his bike without Gammy riding beside him....I was so proud of him and sooo thankful for Gammy. So he is a riding fool now however he still trys to turn to sharp and wipes out...but all in all he is doing great. I have a video clip of it on my camera but it won't let me load it on here...any ideas anyone?? But here are a few pictures of the big event.

And his biggest fan even if he doesn't admit it he loves her and loves it when she yells....GO Kalebh as he rides down the driveway!!!

Kalebh, I love you and I am so very proud of you. Not only because you took the challenge and learned how to do this...just because you are you! And I think one day you will think it is so special that Gammy got to teach you because you know what?? My Granny taught me how to ride my bike and to roller skate. She would follow closely behind me with a pillow in case I fell. So we need to tell Gammy...Next up roller skating! Sweet Sweet memories! I love you son!

Spring Break -- Wahoo

Spring Break was soo much fun...Let me see if I can cover it all in a short amount of time. I have a to-do list as long as Santa's naught list.

Friday when school was out we headed to Glorieta New Mexico with some great friends of ours. We left Lockney around 3 and got to Glorieta about 10. When we left here it was in the 70's. I knew it was going to be colder when we got there but I still wore Flip flops and took tennis shoes in my bad....well when we pulled up to the cabin there was 14 in of snow! Seeing as how my bad was the first to go in it was the last to come out so I had to walk in flips through 14 in of snow!!!

So anyway it was cold and Chad made the remark "Man Katie I am not sure I have ever seen you more that fast"!

The next day we got up and headed to Santa Fe where we ate at one of me and Randy Travis's favorite place (we are close and all) and then hit the square to do a little shopping and as Kaileigh said....see some Indians...iiiahhh iahhh (indian noise) In Santa Fe Kalebh found a really cook necklace, Kaileigh found a necklace and bracket and I found NOTHING....Can you believe that! Anyway it was fun. We also took the kids to the staircase without nails then grocery shopping...once we got to Albertson's the electricity was out which made the process both scary and fun at the same time. My friend Jeri and I were worried about the meat not being cool but we are still here so I guess all was fine.

One more thing about Santa Fe Day...when we walked into the church with the staircase Kalebh asks....am I going to have to sit through a sermon on vacation???? That's my kid :)

Next up is the zoo...Kaileigh woke up ready to go.

We left out and it was a really pretty day. Albuquerque is about 70 miles from where we were staying but it was so pretty the time just flew by. We ate at a Pappadeaux and then headed to the zoo. As we were walking into the zoo it started to spit rain but we were still good to go. Kids had coats and we headed on in.

Chad had carried Kaileigh all over Santa Fe and he decided he didn't care if it was 50 bucks he was renting a stroller for Kaileigh...so we did and that worked out great. They told us as we walked in that the Polar were going to be fed at 2:30 so we headed out to look for them and let me just tell you....that was sooo soo cool....or as Kaileigh says...they were Awwwsome. Anyway it was so neat and here are a few pictures of that.

So did I say they were cool...all I have ever seen Polar Bears do is lay and sleep...so if you have have the chance to see them eat...well worth it! Here are a few others from the zoo...I am sure you all know what zoo animals look like so I will just post those that my kids are in! (since that is the only reason you read this thing anyway)

The zoo was great fun the kids had fun, we had fun and by the time we left it was cold...on the way home we had great weather to be out driving in. Between Santa Fe and Glorieta they closed I25 down while we were on it...so it took us almost 2 hours to go 14 miles...lots and lots of fun with 4 kids and a baby! But once again...we lived to tell about it!

The last day on our trip we just hung out and played games, in the snow and the kids watched some movies. It was really nice to stay in. Not to mention we didn't have much of a choice due to all the snow. But, it was nice to get out of town, play, shop and rest...and spend time with some great friends and also with our kids....Love to all...

Hate Mail

Due to the high volume of hate mail (from my family not to mention any names or single anyone out...but your first name starts with a B and your last name starts with Whttington) I have been receiving it has delayed the blogs I have been wanting to post....and pictures for that matter :)

Okay really it is just life things happen. Since the last blog I wrote let me see.
--Chad started a new job
--Chad's grandfather also Kaileighs baby-sitter had a heart attack
--Charlie (Chad's Grandpa) has had 2 surgery and we have the 3rd one tomorrow
--I took a trip to Deer Park
--We are getting ready for a small vacation to NM
--The kids have been so funny, growing, and in EVERYTHING
--And most important I have started my online classes

So lets cover these one at a time. On Feb. 5th after a week of wild weather, school delays, Chad had no success getting out of Lubbock to Mississippi for a meeting, my mom here all week we got a phone call about 5:30am saying that they were taking Charlie to the ER...so we meet Juanita there after I almost have to hurt someone to find Edith (Chad's mom) and then we find out he is being sent to Lubbock to have surgery. The wonderful people at the heart hospital were waiting on him and everything worked out just fine...Praise God!

Other than my mom having to stay another week everything went on as normal. Thank God she wasn't booked with meeting and was able to stay here and help out with Kaileigh so Chad and I cold both work. All in all everything is well. Charlie has his 3rd and we hope last stint. Please pray for the doctors and the care he gets there after.

My sweet niece Bailey turned one on Feb. 25th and my mom and I took a trip to Deer Park to be with her on her special day. It was so much fun and kind of nice to get away without my kids. My very best friend from Jr. High met me in DP and we had a great time. It is always so nice to catch up with old friends. I enjoyed my sister and our time together and shopping. I love my family. While I was there we shopped, ate, laughed, ate and got to visit with my good friend Krytal who bless her heart is having a hard time. Please keep praying that the Lord would see fit to heal hear body for infection. The kids were glad I left for a few days but they were both glad when I got home....and they all slept in the same bed with me for a week :)

SPRING BREAK....wahoo...Can't wait...we are taking a trip with some really good friends of ours and I am so excited.....one of my fav places....with some of my fav...people! Hope to rest and relax and visit.....oh and laugh...as you all know I love to do that!

The kids are busy. Kalebh just finished up a fundraiser for the school and he sold the 35 items to win the limo ride!!! wahooo...he can't wait....thanks to our friends and family that helped us get that done. Kaileigh is as funny as ever. Today she went with Edith, Juanita and Charlie to Charlies dr appt....well I hear she just won the waiting room crowd over! Not hard to do I guess! That curly hair gets her so much attention. Speaking of hair I straighted it a few nights ago and in the words of her brother...that was a mistake...it was awful and Charlie didn't even want to talk about it he hated it...too funny. I am just happy she sat still and I didn't burn her.

Online classes....ugh...but 6 more hours closer to being done! That is all I have to say about that!

Well now pictures....
--Kaileigh with the stright hair
--Bailey opening birthday presents at her party...she was so sweet and funny.
--Kalebh in bed for the night....at like 6pm...he is a farmer...okay really it was like 8:30 :)
--Kaileigh back to her curly self!
--The kids and Granny...the kids are getting ready to go swimming and Mimi's hotel...with Popau!

Love to all...thanks for always checking in with us. Before long Tball will be starting up and I think I am going to put Kaileigh in a dance class we will see. Chad and I have to slow down first!
